The Mac can read Windows NTFS formatted volumes, but can not write to them. The thumb drive is most likely formatted with NTFS. The best format for a volume that will be used to copy files between Mac and Windows is FAT32.

How to use a carbon copy cloner?

To use a Carbon Copy Cloner, you need to first install the software on your computer. Then, launch the application and select the source drive (the drive you want to clone) and the destination drive (where you want to copy the data to). Follow the on-screen instructions to start the cloning process, which will create an exact duplicate of your source drive on the destination drive.

Can fallout 3 be coped onto a thumb drive and then played on a different ps3?

The game itself cannot be copied onto a thumb drive. In order to play Fallout 3 on another PS3, you need to take the original game disc and insert it into the second PS3. After the game installs, you will be able to play Fallout 3 on either PS3, so long as you have the game disc inserted. You can, however, transfer Fallout 3 save files to a thumb drive and transfer the individual save files between two PS3s. On the XMB (Cross Media Bar) go the Games section, and select the icon which says Saved Data Utility. Find your Fallout 3 save file and hit triangle. Select copy with the thumb drive (labeled as USB drive on the PS3) as your destination. After this is done, you can remove the thumb drive and switch it to the second PS3. On the second PS3, again go the Games section of the XMB. Choose the Saved Data Utility, but instead of scrolling to find a game, find the USB Drive icon and press triangle. Copy the save file you want from the thumb drive to your second PS3, and you should be good to go.

What can a portable hard drive copy?

Anything. You can use it to store things just like you would a internal hard drive. So you can store videos, music, data, games, programs, or whatever you could possibly want on an external hard drive.

How do you get everything from your old computer and install it on a new one?

Use a Flash Drive or Disc. You'll need a big amount of room if you have a lot on your computer to move. Highlight the things you want and click Copy (Ctrl+C), make sure they're pasted (Ctrl+C) Applications/Documents. So I am sure to say to put no "Shortcuts" in your Flash drive. Put the Flash drive in your new computer now. Open the flash drive and copy the things, and drag them where you want them to be. Keep askin' questions anonymus

What can I use if a Notebook does not have a DVD drive?

Answer:This is a problem which plagues the buyers of Notebooks (Netbooks, Mini's, whatever you want to call them). Simply because of lack of space, Notebooks, as opposed to Laptops, do not have CD/DVD drives....There just isn't enough room. But don't fret - If you need to install software, using another computer, copy the ENTIRE contents of the CD onto a thumb drive (USB memory stick), one preferably 2GB or larger. Then insert the thumb drive on your net book, and install the software from there. (there are of course limitations to this due to the size of the thumb drive)Now... if you actually want to play a DVD movie.. well.... that's why they invented DVD players... :-)

How do you get information from one hard drive to another?

It depends on what your setup is. If you have two computers, and you want to transfer data between them, you should be able to network the computers and copy the files directly. If you just have a hard drive and want to copy some data to your computer, you can install the drive into your computer (assuming you have a slot for the drive, an available data cable for the drive and and available power connector.

How do you get information onto a hard drive?

You just copy your data to the hard drive somehow. It is just a matter of finding out how the system identifies the hard drive and accessing that device. For instance, in MS-DOS, if you wanted to copy something to the hard drive you could issue a command such as:COPY A:\*.* C:\That would copy the entire contents of the root directory of the floppy in drive A: to the root directory of the hard drive identified as drive C:.On Windows, if you have something on a CD in drive E: that you want to copy to drive C:, you could just drag and drop it. Just open up the 2 windows that you want to copy between, make the selections on the source folder, and drag them to the window of the destination folder.
