Chances are your USB drive is still being recognized, but it has the same drive letter as another device (CD, DVD maybe). Perform the following steps: 1. Right-click on My Computer icon (on desktop) 2. From menu that pops up Left-click on "Manage". 3. From left pane of the resulting window choose "Disk Management". 4. In the right pane you will see all Disk devices, find your USB drive and Right-click on it. Left-click on Change Drive Letters and Paths. 5. Change the USB drive's assigned letter to something further up the chain (Like "U" for USB) or whatever you would like.
