An SSID is any name you want to give to your wireless network router (to identify it) up to 32 characters long. Frequestly the SSID has a default that is supplied by the router manufacturer. it is important ,not to broadcast ur ssid ,also change ur ssid name.
It is always good practice to change the default password to something else. If it is a wireless router you should also change the default SSID and enable an encryption method.
The SSID is the name of your own wireless network, that's the one you should use - if you don't have one, you'll need to get a wireless router.
The SSID is the 'name' of your wireless router. You should have given it a specific name when setting the router up - your PSP should normally be able to detect it when scanning, but if you've set it to invisible, you need to enter the SSID manually.
The SSID you use is the one for your own wireless network, you set it when you set up the wireless router. So if your network is named 'MyInternet', that's the name your router is broadcasting. That's the SSID that the PSP needs.
It should be in "Wireless" properties in your wireless router.
Change default passwords, disable broadcasting of SSID, enable security (N type if possible).
When your modem is broadcasting you should see it on the SSID list. This list is the current broadcasting systems in your area.
disable an SSID broadcast
You need to disable SSID broadcasting and enable wireless security.
how to change a router pasword
