It all depends on your software for your car, if you are using a bluetooth, try seeing if they are playable on that device. Other than that just check that pack of paper you have in your glove compartment, its called a manual take a look through it.
I think wpl and m3u are data files not actually songs carrying data about tracks e.g. song name.
You may have a virus.... ---- Unlikely. .wpl files are Windows Playlist files. Open them up using Notepad, and see if the files contain readable text or gibberish. The text will look something like blahblah blah blah What looks like could have happened is Microsoft Media Player has reorganized your music library, and created playlist files for where your files were before.
Yes car DVD player will also play your CD and most Mp3 files.
I Have a older sony CD player and MEMOREX CD-R record off my computer will not play All CD players will play songs that are in a 44.1 Khz Wav format. You may have to copy the CDs recorded files to your computer, reformat to 44.1 Khz Wav, then burn them to a new CD.
The .wpl format is the default file format used for playlists that you save in Windows Media Player 9 Series and above. They cannot be converted to .mp3 format. In order to convert, you need the actual songs. Once you have the music or video use a program like AnyVideo Converter to get your .mp3 files you need.
