Happy New Year.
JB That depends on your motherboard. Most motherboads only have 2 memory slots. If you currently have both slots filled you won't be able to add a 1 GB memory card.
1 gb will be batter because it will use less resources..
The one with 1GB of RAM. 512MB is 0.5 of 1GB
2 gig
You can do this.. but with the price of DDR II being so cheap these days, imo i would purchase 2 x 1gb sticks, and install these instead of the 2 x 512's. You could sell the 512's, or keep them safe, in case needed for future use. Hope this helps be safe Cadishead Computers
I'm not sure I fully understand your question but I will do my best to answer. You have a 3ghz processor with 1GB of ram. 512mb of ram is enough to run windows XP.
1 Gig
yes RAM helps speed up everything that's on a computer i upgraded from 1 gig to 4 gig RAM on my laptop and i noticed an immediate difference in the entire performance of it
If you were upgrading, it could be that you have a mother board that won't recognize more than 1 gig of ram maximum.
"mbs" is speed, not RAM size.
Most computers in 2008 come with at least 1 GB (even laptops). You should get around 2 GB if you're going to do alot of work on the computer such as editing photos or editing videos. However, for a casual user who is surfing the web or using MS Word/Excel, even 512 MB would be enough.
Under a third of a gig. only 26.6% of a GB
yes .99 is almost a gig .99 is enough
