If your Bearcat BC148XLT-1 displays an "Error" message when you press the scan button, it may indicate that there are no channels programmed or that the scanner is locked out from scanning certain frequencies. Check to ensure that you've programmed the desired frequencies correctly and that none of the channels are locked out. Additionally, verify that the scanner is in the correct mode (such as "Scan" or "Search") and try resetting it to factory settings if the problem persists.
