Switch because it is at least a little intelligent and can send data packets to the correct port.-----------A switch also regenerates the network signal, where a hub does not.
It depends on the number of clients in the LAN segment, but in general a switch is more efficient than a hub.
Switch
a hub is a central point in a network through which all the wires pass, a switch connects more than 2 LAN networks
I suggest a hub as they are more reliable.
False
No. One way to connect the additional computers is via a wireless network. But if you must have a wired network of 10 comupters, you could buy a switch or a hub to extend the network. Routers also have a built in switch, but they are more expensive. A switch is better than a hub and costs a little more.
More like an antennae.
I don't think it has to be anymore than 2, but it can be quite a few. The problem with a hub say for a computer like a usb hub is that each device receives less power and they are all sharing the same port, its like hooking 5 computers to one modem.
You'll need a router, switch or hub to hook up more than one computer to a network.
Switch work's full-duplex mode, but HUB work's on Half-duplex mode. each port of switch is a different collision-domain, but HUB is single collision-domain.
Switch is faster than HUB. If you are using managed switch you can create VLAN, you can secure ports and many other things.
