It depends on how the two six volt batteries are connected. If they are in parallel then the answer is no. If they are connected in series then the answer is yes. To find out for sure check the voltage that the starter needs. If it says 12 VDC then you will know that the two six volt batteries are wires in series and can be replaced with a 12 VDC battery.

You will destroy the battery and be buying a new one.

How do you hook 2 12 volt batteries together together to get 24 volts in a positive ground tractor?

Connect the positive terminal on one battery to the negative terminal on the other with heavy wire and battery clamps. Connect the remaining positive terminal to the metal chassis of the tractor, and run the remaining negative wire to the items to be powered, with any luck at all, through a fusebox.

How do i wire two 12 volt car batteries to make one 24 volt battery?

To get 24 volts from two 12 volt batteries, hook the positive post from one battery to the negative post of the other.

How do you jump start a 24volt machine with 12 volt battery?

You don't because of the voltage differences between sources to jump start you must have the same voltage at destination and source the source may be higher than the destination but destination cannot be higher than the source. You could how ever put two 12 volt batteries in series and then use that set to jump your 24 volt system. There are two possible waysIN ANY CASE DO NOT USE ONE 12 VOLT SOURCE TO BOOST BOTH BATTERIES IN THE 24 VOLT SYSTEM AT THE SAME TIME SPARKS WILL FLY AND DAMAGE WILL HAPPEN.The first is to boost one of the batteries for a 10 to 15 minute period then boost the second for the same. if the machine does not start boost the first battery for 15 to 20 min then boost the second for the same period. etc etcThe second way is to have 2 separate 12 volt sources. You can use two vehicles. Each vehicle boosts one 12 volt battery. Connect the positive of vehicle 1 to the positive of battery 1 in the 24 volt system. Connect the negative of battery 1 in the 24 volt system to the frame of vehicle 1. Then connect the positive of battery 2 in the 24 volt system to to the positive of the vehicle 2. The last connection is from the negative of battery 2 in the 24 volt system to the frame of the vehicle 2.do not let the vehicles touch!!Or if you have access to 120 volts use a small battery charger connected to one 12 volt battery and a vehicle to the other 12 volt battery .IN ANY CASE DO NOT USE ONE 12 VOLT SOURCE TO BOOST BOTH BATTERIES IN THE 24 VOLT SYSTEM AT THE SAME TIME.

How do I connect a twelve volt car battery to two six volt batteries connected in a series?

connect the 2 six-volt batteries together one terminal each positive to negitive, this will make a 12-volt combination, then you can connect the jumper cables, one side to the 12-volt battery and one side to the two 6-volt terminals, + & -

How do you charge 6 volt batteries with a 12 volt charger?

If you have two 6 volt batteries you can take a jumper wire and connect the negative post on one battery to the positive post on the other battery then connect the remaining pos and neg posts to the 12 volt battery charger.

How long does it take to cook a 6 volt battery with a 12 volt charger?

It depends upon the amp hours of the 6 volt battery. The higher the ampacity of the battery the longer it would take. I hope that this is a hypothetical question because why would one want to fry a battery.

What is the difference between a 9 volt battery riding car and a 12 volt battery car?

One is 9 volts and the other is 12 volts. They do not interchange!

Does a 9 volt battery have more power than a 6 volt battery?

Power or energy cannot be measured in volts. The only thing you can say is one - the 9 volt battery - has a higher voltage than the other, the 6 volt battery. If you are asking about the power or energy contained in a battery, then the amount iof energy it can supply depends mostly on its physical size that is determined by the battery "type".

Can I use a 12 volt 1amp battery chargermaintainer on my 48v golf cart?

No. You can only charge one 12 volt battery at a time or two 6 volt batteries wired in series at a time if you want to use that 12 volt charger.
