That's a definite maybe. You need to have a CD R/W (reader/writer) to burn CDs. A DVD R/W will burn CDs for you. If it can burn movies, it can burn audio.
CD-R or CD-RW , BUT CD-R is better
You can use any kind of writable CD that your drive can burn (e.g. CD-R, CD+R, CD-RW). While there are "Audio" CD, these are not necessary as both the "Audio" and "Data" CDs use the same recording method and error correction techniques on playback. As I said above, the only real limit is which kind of CD that your drive can burn. I can't tell you that, the instructions for the drive will. But almost all drives will burn CD-R disks, even if they can't do some others.
The kind of media that can be stores on black CD-R's are music, videos, podcasts, and audio books. CD-R's are very useful when you do not have room to save your videos or music.
you probably have a CD+-R and a DVD-Rom, which I have. Took me a long time to realize that DVD=ROM doesn't burn anything. It only reads You need a CD+-R and DVD+-R/RW to burn.

You cannot burn DVDs in this drive, but you can read and burn CDs and watch DVDs. Therefore, you can only use DVD R and CD R/RW.
No. CDs are of lesser capacity than that of DVDs. Also if the computer drive is just a CD-Writer drive and not a DVD writer it will not burn DVDs.
