Making Key Fobs
Most (if not all) key fobs can be recoded. You may want to inquire with your dealership or a good locksmith.
With the dealer's scan tool.
Depends on the year. The owners manual should show you how to pull the back of the key fob (that holds the batteries. Most of the key fobs take two batteries. Make sure you keep the old ones to make sure you get the right size. Once you have the batteries back into the key fob you will need to put your key in the ignition so the key functions will work again. If your light doesn't blink with the new batteries you installed them backwards *I did that*
Bring all keys and FOBs to dealership.

Yes, you can have two different key fobs together and use them interchangeably for the same vehicle. Each key fob will have its unique code that the car's system recognizes, allowing multiple key fobs to be used with the same vehicle.
Typically, key fobs are not designed to be combined with each other. Each key fob is paired specifically to its corresponding vehicle or access point. If you have multiple key fobs for different vehicles or places, they should be kept separate for proper functioning.

To reprogram the key fobs for a 2005 Jaguar XJR, first, ensure you have all the key fobs you wish to program. Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "On" position without starting the engine. Within five seconds, press and hold the lock button on the key fob for about 10 seconds, then release it. Repeat this process for any additional fobs, turning the ignition off to complete the programming.
Personalized key fobs can be bought online from some of the companies that trade through Amazon. They can also be bought from jewelers who also do engraving.
I have a 2002 Impala and have had issues with the pass-lock system for a long time. When I first bought it, the doors would unlock or lock as we were driving down the road, on their own. Also, because of this issue, the battery would not last long, normally a couple of day. We had it in the dealership for a couple months on and off and they eventually said that the key fobs were bad and/or the batteries were going dead. They replaced the batteries and fobs and the problems went away for quite some time. Now I've got a new problem where the car just plain won't start. For some reason the OEM security function is setting off the starter kill. I bought new batteries for the fobs, still happened. I removed the batteries from the fobs all together, still happens. I am currently trying to figure out what is causing this new issue with the starter kill.
