Pull the left front tire off.then right in front of the wheel well,theres a plastic pannel that once unscrewed off,exposes the battery..odd place for it indeed,but there it is and just hook the charger up as needed.
You can charge the battery from the jump start posts under the hood. There is no need to remove the inner fender.
