At the bottom of the razor is a metal plate next to the plug pins . lift this with a small screw driver,n it is shaped like a paper staple. Next release the two metal clips on either side of the top end that are under the plastic mesh cover that fits over the top. you can then release the side cover, on the side that the trimmer works.
