Assuming that the switch has failed, the battery is dead, or the relay or fuse is non-functional. First off, make sure you use a 12volt battery. Remove the switch cover/housing. Unplug the electrical contact plug. More than likely, there will only be 2 wires. Run a wire from each contact post on the charged battery. Attach the ground/negative wire first, then the positive wire. If nothing happens, reverse the contact wires. This is a temporary solution. I would not recommend continuing use of this configuration without a fuse or relay.
moon roof don't work i check the fuse all-ready
someone help i cant close my 1990 Lincolns moon roof
To reset the moon roof on a Lexus RX330, first ensure the vehicle is in the "On" position. Next, close the moon roof completely by pressing the "Close" button, then hold it for about 10 seconds until you hear a click. Release the button, then press and hold the "Open" button for about 10 seconds until you hear another click. This process should reset the moon roof's automatic function.
If your 1999 Cadillac moon roof won't close, first check the fuse related to the moon roof system, as a blown fuse could be the cause. Next, inspect the moon roof for any obstructions or debris that might be preventing it from closing. If those steps don’t resolve the issue, the problem may be with the motor or the switch, and you may need to consult a professional mechanic for further diagnosis and repair.
I have a 2000 expo and my moon roof is also messed up. Not sure whats wrong with it but it sounds like something is broke in there.
you need to reconnect the battery
If the moon roof on your Ford Explorer won't close, it may be due to a few common issues. The problem could stem from a blown fuse, a malfunctioning switch, or a jammed track due to debris or ice. Additionally, the motor that operates the moon roof may be faulty. Checking the fuse and ensuring the track is clear are good first steps to troubleshoot the issue.
You must reset each individual window and your moon roof go to each window switch and hold it in the up position for 5 seconds then hold until the window goes down don't release until after 5 seconds after it goes down repeat with each window. go to your moon roof hold in the close position for 5 sec the roof should tilt up in then close back. then open the roof and continue to hold for 5 seconds longer. this should reset everything back in place. This typically happens when every the battery is disconnected.
The answer below is incorrect. The sunroof switch must be programmed or initialized. The dealer was supposed to do this during "dealer prep" but didn't. Some dealers are unaware of the procedure altogether. From the owner's manual: "To normalize the moon roof, push and hold the switch toward the "Tilt UP" side. Then moon roof will tilt up and down, then slide open and close. After the slide close operation, release the switch. Make sure that the moon roof opens and closes automatically. If the moon roof cannot be operated properly, have it checked by your Toyota dealer." You will need to do this anytime the battery is disconnected or fully discharged. Sounds like Toyota hasn't improved the switch since my 2004.. You have to look up at the sunroof and stop it when fully closed. After many times getting out and checking it you will know when it is closed. Why can't a stop be programmed in?
lol....trade it in....mercedes, bmw...only good when new. Hi. That surprised me the first time i disconnected the battery in my 1999 c230 k. the answer is: You have to reset the power window/moon roof control circuit. you just have to point the keyfob infrared lens to the small "window" at the front driver door handle and depress and hold the open button. All windows plus moon roof will open at the same time and the system will be reset. If you want to close them again just depress and hold the close button on the keyfob. Good luck.
no way no way
It is a 2007 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer Edition. The moon roof is stuck in the tilted position.
