Just like you can append multiple files together like
mencoder file1.avi file2.avi -o file.avi
you can append multiple titles from a DVD into a single file, video filters if needed & DVD device location need to be applied seperately to each title. you can also append title(s) from multiple dvds into a single file this way.
Example encoding title 1 and title 2 from a DVD with filters:
mencoder DVD://01 -DVD-device location -vf pp=fd DVD://02 -DVD-device location -vf pp=fd -o file.avi
location can be a vob file or location of a DVD on disk or on DVD drive
To encode a video file into the VP8 format using ffmpeg, you can use the following command: ffmpeg -i inputvideo.mp4 -c:v libvpx -b:v 1M outputvideo.webm This command will take the input video file "inputvideo.mp4" and encode it into the VP8 format with a bitrate of 1 Mbps, saving the output as "outputvideo.webm".

There are a ton. Most things that use wavelets to encode the data fall into this category. Often the same file format and "extension" can have multiple actual encoding mechanisms on the inside, so it might sometimes have lossy compression and sometimes not. Examples of file formats with lossy compression include mp3,jpeg and mpeg. Container formats like avi, and wma sometimes do and sometimes don't.
There are JPEG, BMP, GIF, PNG, DIB, TIFF as common formats, and more.

to have a data file with multiple access path is known as multi key file organization
A file format is the way information is saved and organized in a computer file. It tells the computer how to open and read the data inside the file. Different types of files use different formats, for example, .jpg for images, .mp4 for videos, and .docx for documents. Choosing the right format is important so the file works properly with the right apps. Some formats are also better for quality or size, depending on what you need.
It could be one in the Header of the file, one at the top of a column or start of a row, the name of the file, or even a title in a chart.

Flat file databases are also called as relational databases describe any different means to encode a database model. This requires data to be kept in one large table. Big up Philip Proctor
