Probably a short in the wiring that you will have to trace in order to find it.
1997
It will be in your owners manual. If you don't have one, try going to the Jaguar website. Click on "ownership," then "my Jaguar." On the left of the screen, you should see "Owners Manuals." Click on that, then click on your model (under the photo) then pick the year and download the manual. It may not be for your exact year (I think they only go back to 2000) but the directions are probably the same. --an additional note on this, if you have a newer garage door opener that has a rolling code, you most likely won't be able to use the buttons installed in the car, the technology is too old. This info is listed in your owner's manual. Don't have one, get one, or call Mitsubishi. You can get an owner's manual at the dealer or possibly find one at a salvage yard. Hold the button for a few seconds until the light blinks, aim your opener at the button and close the door, and then let the car's button go. It should then be programmed.
