To remove the plastic panel on a 2009 Dodge Journey to access the battery, start by locating the screws or clips securing the panel. Use a screwdriver or trim removal tool to carefully detach these fasteners. Once loosened, gently pry the panel away from the vehicle, taking care not to break any clips. After the panel is removed, you should have clear access to the battery.
You must turn your drivers side wheel all the way to the right and remove the plastic panel in order to access the battery. I get to do this today, yay...
You need to remove the left front tire. Remove the plastic keepers on the panel that you see there. The battery is behind there...
there is a panel in front of the drivers side wheel. it has four 1/4 turn plastic pins to remove the panel. then there is a battery bracket with 2 bolts. remove those and the battery cable and its out.
The battery is hidden out of site behind a removable plastic panel in the drivers side front fender wheel well. Turn the front wheels hard to the left to better access the panel and battery. You will find 4 fasteners holding the panel in place. A quarter turn on each fastener will release each fastener. Jacking up and supporting the left front safely and removing the drivers side wheel would also make it easier to R&R the battery.
The battery is located behind the LEFT plastic panel that says SHADOW. The panel is below the seat.
Get in da car. Turn your wheels all the way to the left. And then check the wheel well on the drivers side up front. There is a panel held in place by, i believe, 4 plastic screws. Just give them a half turn and pull down, pull out the plastic panel (it will take some doing). And voila. Your battery. Good luck putting the panel back on- it's a pain.
The Diagram is located on the inside of the fuse cover panel in the plastic.
ITS UNDER THE HOOD IN FRONT OF THE BATTERY.

To change the battery you must first turn the wheels all the way to the right. You need to remove the inner fender panel behind the wheel. It is just held on with some push in plastic retainers. With the panel out you just need to remove the retaining strap and disconnect the battery. Installation is reverse of removal.
