CD & DVD work in practically the same manner. Both store data as a series of reflective marks on the surface of the disc. The thin plastic or metal foil layer of the disc gets hit by the laser beam of the writing drive. The laser energy thus produced creates tiny bumps in a spiral pattern similar to that of a long-playing album.
DVD-r is basically an untouched disc..... completely empty or not completely filled but has permission for writing data into it..... DVD-ROM is a finalized disc. No data can be written to it. It can only be read not written to.
it's binary data
A DVD is the media that data is written to. A DVD-ROM, DVD-RAM, DVD/RW etc is the optical storage device.
DVD plus RW has been developed by Sony, Dell, HP, Philips, and Mcft. The DVD minus RW standard was developed by Pioneer and is used by Apple as well. DVD minus RW can have one layer of data written to them, while DVD plus RW can have multiple layers of data written to them.
No. Formatting a disc creates a file structure that data will be written upon. However it is not necessary to format a CD or DVD, the file structure is burned onto it at the same time as the data is written.
a DVD plus r means ,dvd+r, it is a variant of common dvd, which can be written once . after it has been written, the data ot content can not be changed. if you want to change it, u need a dvd+rw, that means, u can write more than once
No DVD ripper will erase data from a DVD.
In short, Data DVD only can be played in computer, and DVD can be played on both DVD play and computer.
Ripping a DVD: Copying data from a DVD toanother locationBurning a DVD: Copying data to a DVD fromanother location
Here, by downloading means that you want to write it on a DVD and later read from it. Moreover, The DVD is RW which means re-writable. In normal DVD's, data once written cannot be removed but in case of DVD-RW, data can written and removed as well.. For writing a DVD there is no special software... Windows Xp, Vista and 7 have preloaded windows applications that can write the data. But if you want more organisation like you want to add effects, and stuffs like that than you can use Nero. Otherwise, as I have already said, for simple writing no SPECIAL software is required.
A DVD. Apex.
The DVD uses a red laser with a smaller wavelength, not the long wavelength red laser that is used for CDs. The shorter wavelength allows the beam to be more accurate. This accuracy means that more data can be stored on a DVD than a CD. Data can only be written on one side of a CD, but a DVD can be written on both sides depending on the type of DVD (for example, DVD-5) you have. For more information see the link below.
