How to program remote garage door openeYour owner's manual has complete instructions on how to do this. But, it requires that you have the remote opener provided by the garage door company. On my Buick, you just hold the button on the car's opener and the remote at the same time. The car's opener will beep and this should do it. Try thisStep 1: hold the hand help remote 3 inches away from the button you choose to program in your vehicle and hold down bothe buttons (hand held remote button and vehicle button) you should see slow blinking lights on your vehicle buttons. Once they change to rappidly, let the buttons go.Step 2: on the garage door opener itself, you have a learn button( usually located next to your lights on the garage door opener) push and let go the learn code, a light will appear on above that button, then you will have 30-45 seconds until that light goes off.Step 3: go back to the vehicle, push and hold the button you chose to program from step 1, until you see the garage door opener lights blinkIf that happens then the button is trained. Hope that helps you. Please leave a cooment on my website, and let me know how it worked.http://www.valleydoors.webs.com

To program a GPT universal remote control, hold down the power button at the same time with the button for the device that is going to be programmed. When the other buttons on the remote blink, let up and press on the power button again. The device should turn on. If not, repeat the process.
Hold the 2 outer buttons down until the light in the little house icon flashes rapidly. That will clear the memory. Then you hold down the button on your opener remote while pushing the button you wish to program. When the flashing light changes from slow to rapid, you should be all set. If your opener has "rolling code" technology, you will have to program that by pushing your opener button in the car while somebody pushes the "learn" button on the opener itself.
When you are parked close to the door opener hold down the button until the light becomes slower.

On my RX 350 and Craftsman opener I just pushed the memory button on the Craftsman opener briefly (the signal light came on next to the button) and released it. Then I pressed the sender in my car within 30 seconds. It wasn't long before the lights on the opener flashed and I then released the Lexus button. Didn't have to hold anything down very long at all.
To program the garage door opener in a 2002 Toyota Highlander, first, ensure that your vehicle is parked outside of the garage. Hold down the two outer buttons on the HomeLink system until the indicator light begins to flash, indicating it’s cleared for programming. Next, press and hold the button on your garage door remote while simultaneously pressing the desired HomeLink button in your Highlander. Release both buttons when the indicator light changes from a slow blink to a solid light, confirming successful programming.
Short answer: Hold the built-in button down and your garage door remote control button down at the same time and near each other. The built in will flash slow then fast once it gets the code (takes up to 1 min). - that's it - but... I have a Genie Garage door opener and remote and I had some problems that figured out (don't want to rewrite it here) so I cut and paste this: (sent to Genie) Just wanted to let you know that I figured out how to use my XK8 built-in garage door opener but there was a glitch that I had to work through. I actually had to program the built in remote with my Genie Intellicode Transmitter (GIC/GIT-1,2, or 3) (that worked to program my built-in remote but it wouldn't work on the genie pcg650 garage door opener?) I then used your Rcvr Programming Instructions to program the "genie pcg650 garage door opener receiver" with the cars built-in opener (that I had just programed with youf Intellicode remote. Beleive it or not when I was all done the intellicode remote and the Car's built-in remote both worked. It was like the built-in remote got the correct code but the receiver had to learn that it was OK to accept it from the built-in? Anyway, your sight helped a little and I thought you could help others with this info. Thanks Danny
