Have the battery tested at any auto parts store.
you would have dimming lights lack of electrical functions and after the voltage of the battery drops past a certain point your vehicle would stop running
have an alternator, battery, and electrical check to find out what the problem is. battery may not be taking a charge, or the alternator is not putting out enough voltage.
what kind of wires- electrical??, spark plugs??, battery??
There are two main reasons why a car will not start. The first and most common reason involves the electrical system and the second involves the fuel system. If the starter will not work, you suspect it is the battery. You check the battery. If the battery is bad. You replace it. Next you check the solenoid. You keep checking until you find the place where there is no electricity. Then you check until you find the place where there is no fuel. It could be a blown fuse. It could be an expensive computer. There could be many reasons. While it would take a mechanic a few minutes to find the problem, he would still check at those points to find out where there was no electricity or no fuel. You look for the most common problems first.
There are a few anecdotal accounts, but I could find no evidence of systematic problems with the Everex StepNote battery. From what i can gather this battery has quite a few problems it dies rather fast and can only have a short charge. More over the battery is drained while the laptop is closed wich "having a battery with 0% power" can shorten its life smal.
You would start by diagnosing the problem. You'll have a difficult time repairing a defect without first identifying what it is. First, have a charging system test done, and find out what the state of your battery is. After that, you can take a digital multimeter or test light and test your electrical system from the alternator back to the battery.
Plug it on to a 12v exterior battery is the first simple thing, that I - who have no prior knowledge of this particulary car - would suggest. And if this model has it's battery located in that deadlocked trunk, couldn't you just find another connecting point to the electrical system - such as a cigarettelighter socket? Lancista, Denmark
You may need to find a short circuit or a bad relay. Possibly there is moisture somewhere that is jumping a connection. Automotive electrical problems are difficult to track down yourself and expensive to have someone else do it.
behind the battery on the suspension top. Plastic unit with a round rubber top. It has a ball bearing inside that makes the electrical contact that will need resetting
If the 2000 Cavalier has no lights an will not start, there is an electrical issue. Check the battery, alternator, and the wiring from the battery all the way to the starter to find the problem.
Not sure what is being asked, or is this may help. The logical approach in electrical troubleshooting is: Isolate/test/verify/test the circuit[s].
You may have a flat battery, a blown fuse or a loose wire. You need to trouble shoot your electrical system to find the fault.
