My inverter was not working. The batteries were tubular and reasonably new. While the mechanic was working on the inverter suddenly one of the four batteries just exploded with a very loud noise. The plastic exterior exploded into multiple pieces spilling all the acid in the battery. Fortunately no one was hurt as there was a wall seperating the battery and the inverter.
The mechanic refuses to give any plausible explanation. And I really don't know if such a mishap happens again. How do you prevent such an occurence in future as most of the inverters and their batteries are inside the homes of people.
Most inverters will not be harmed by charging the battery [running the engine while the inverter is connected]. However, for safety [inverters are expensive] it is best that the Owner/User Manual be consulted to make sure that it is safe to charge the battery while the inverter is connected.
To store energy produced from a dynamo, you can incorporate a battery into the system. The dynamo generates electricity, which can be used to charge the battery. An inverter can then be connected to the battery to convert the stored DC energy into AC power for use when needed.
No, the battery connected to an inverter would not have near enough power to run a dryer.
12 volt of an ordinary inverter battery
No, the capacity of the battery is too low to be of any use.
The amp hours capacity of a battery remains the same whether it is connected to a 12-volt DC load or a 120-volt AC inverter. So, the battery would still have 100 amp hours regardless of the inverter voltage.
The whole purpose of an inverter is to convert DC to AC.Mainly, you should check the voltage of the inverter, and of the battery - they should match. As to the 350 watt: the battery must be able to provide that much power. Check the battery specifications. Actually, it is also possible that you take less power from the battery - it really depends what devices you connect to the inverter.
Yes, Its good alternate solution but by using non-solar inverter it requires manual switching. (Solar charge controller will no longer works) & In Solar inverter, its easy switching & more life (solar inverter manufacturers gives max 5 years warranty) As we use more panels in parallel it charges battery quickly.

Many people agree that the inverter battery is better dry. The wet battery can cause spills and damages. They can also cause burns to people.
