right click on my computer, cick on manage, select the DVD rom, right click on it and see the properties.
If you have the driver discs for both this will usually fix the problem, you will need the soundcard drivers and the CD-Rom you may need to update the driver, right click on CD-Rom, go to properties, and you will see the update driver button....
If you have sound card driver CD-ROM, CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive first. Right-click 'My Computer'---- properties ---- ---- hardware ---- Device Manager to delete? (!) Device (sound card restart ---- )---- found new hardware - install the driver: Select the 'only this time' and click 'Next'---- select' CD-ROM drive 'and click' next '---- step to start the installation, complete the installation.

On the desktop or in the start menu, right click My Computer and then Properties. The RAM is listed there. It may take a second to show up. I'm not sure what you mean by ROM, but if you mean hard disk space (I'm assuming), left click on My Computer and right click the C: drive and click properties and it should show the total amount under Total Size.
A CD ROM drive cannot read a DVD. So it is not possible to use a CD ROM as a DVD ROM. A DVD ROM drive can work with a CD though.
