The current leader in energy density and life is Lithium-chemistry batteries. If you can't get that, go for alkaline.
AA energizer
For a set rate of power drain and the same battery chemistry, the biggest battery will last the longest. In this case, the 'C' size.
AAA is the smallest of the real common batteries, and holds the least power and has the shortest life for a given drain. D is the largest of the real common batteries and holds the most power and will last the longest for a given drain.
A lithium battery is going to last longer than an Alkaline but they're also quite a bit more pricey. For something like toys, if it's a common size that you use in a lot of devices like AA or AAA, NiMH slow drain rechargable batteries are usually your best bet (and last a good amount of time too). Any type of battery will be fine, except for a car battery, which may be too big.

AA batteries typically last longer than AAA batteries due to their larger size and capacity to hold more power. However, the exact duration of battery life can vary depending on the brand, quality, and usage of the batteries.
If we assume the same battery chemistry and quality, and the same drain, then the AA cell will last longer than the AAA cell, as the bigger size means it'll hold a bigger amount of energy.

It actually depends on your usage as the more the battery is used , the quicker it discharges
No set answer to that. It depends on the capacity of the battery and the power consumption of what it's connected to.
The popular battery type are AA, 18650, AAA, 14500, CR123A, etc.
