I haven't found a clearcut answer yet myself. I found a picture that matched my A408 (except for color) on a apx. 1978 brochure at www.automaticwasher.org, a website and discussion forum for antique and vintage washing machines etc. Someone there would probably be able to answer your question (and mine), especially if they had the serial #.
I found the brochure by going to the Discuss-o-mat forum archives, Imperial archives 2006, thread#6633.
