Remote controlls were not discovered they were invented. You can only discover things that already exist and before the fitst remote control was invented there had never been one before.
As Protechnik is not a recoginzed national brand (it has been linked to 'white van' back-door sales), you are unlikely to get any universal remote control that has codes for these products. Even Logitech, who maintain the largest database of infrared codes of any remote manufacturer, do not list them. Your only hope is to use a 'learning' remote control that can learn the codes from the original remote that you got with the unit.... They did give you a remote, didn't they?

I would guess the lock switch is defective. Unplug the wire going to the switch and if the problem goes away the switch is bad. It can also be a defective remote control door lock control if you have one.
