There are 1000 grams in a kilogram. "Kilo" is a prefix meaning 1,000. Therefore to convert to grams you must multiply by 1000. 7.8 * 1000 = 7,800g. (Note: you can calculate this easily simply by moving the decimal point 3 places to the right.)
