No, the plastic will melt in the oven ============= You can't wrap the DISH in plastic wrap then foil, but you can wrap the FOOD in plastic wrap, then foil, THEN put it in the dish to bake. Keep the temperature no higher than 350*F (177*C). Works great with ribs. Well I'll have to disagree with this answer. Just last night I baked a plastic wrap covered Lasagna in Pyrex..... in fact, I made two 9 x 9 dishes without consequence. The pasta heated nicely in 45 minutes @ 350*. Easy removal without any cheese sticking to the wrap.... unlike it does with aluminum foil.
To effectively use foil paper in cooking and baking projects, you can use it to wrap foods for baking or grilling, create a makeshift lid for dishes in the oven, line baking pans for easy cleanup, and make foil packets for cooking delicate foods. Foil paper can also be used to cover dishes to keep them warm or to create a barrier to prevent burning.
i think cannot lar...it might burn...n d gas release is poisonous ============= You cannot use plastic wrap DIRECTLY in the oven. You CAN wrap the food in plastic, sealing it tightly. Then wrap the package in aluminum foil, again, making a tight seal, and put it in a pan. Keep the temperature below 350*F (177*C).
~Ceppwo The purpose of plastic wrap and aluminum foil is for food, it helps the food to stay good, without the plastic wrap and aluminum foil, it would be harder for us to keep it good, and with out it, the food would mold faster . . . so there's your answer:)
It is a really bad idea to put styrofoam, cling film, etc. in an oven and in contact with your food. You and I have no idea what kind of chemicals could be released and come in contact with your food, and in any event it is very likely there would be some melting or a product could catch on fire. Always use oven safe plates, baking sheets, pans, etc. in the oven and use microwave safe cooking tools in the microwave.
Not good for cooking especially saran wrap over food. It drips toxins into your food.l
Yes you can although it might not be as good as aluminum foil..
