probably not - they are a fruit meant to be boiled and made into jam or simmered and reduced into a paste (called membrillo)

Raw they are verry astringent and tangy. I don't think you can ripen them to an edible point without rotting them..

I think you could peel them and slow roast them in an oven with a little butter and sugar over them, like 250 degrees for a longgggg time. But even then, not sure if its too much work for too little reward!
