On January 22, 2003 a child received a fatal wound to her heart and lung when she fell into an open dishwasher.
There was a more recent even in 2007, a horrible accident where an 18 month old climbed into a dishwasher with an automatic start up function. Maytag designed it to turn on when the door closed, a convenient feature that caused this child's horrible death. He was found by his 13 year old brother...
