Yes, brillo pads would be a very effective way to clean the stainless steel of this microwave.
To effectively clean stainless steel surfaces using Brillo pads, dampen the pad with water and gently scrub the surface in a circular motion. Avoid using excessive pressure to prevent scratching the stainless steel. Rinse the surface thoroughly with water and dry it with a clean cloth to prevent water spots.
Other uses than cleaning for Brillo pads are that you can do science experiments with them. Since it's basically thin steel wool using a simple 9V battery one could ignite a brillo pad. It can also be used to add shine to tools by rubbing them.

I think you can get it at Wal-mart, it's called Barkeeper's Friend. Pretty sure it's cheap. It comes in a can that's gold and blue. It is powder, and if you use one of the rough green cleaning sponges, or a brillo pad, and add water, it will remove rust from metal. I would suggest the green cleaning sponge over a brillo pad, just to be careful not to scratch the metal.
