Many homes had electric stoves and ovens by the 1920s, so yes, definitely by the 1950s. Watch Leave it to Beaver or Ozzie and Harriet reruns sometime!

There were no microwave ovens back then, so you cooked everything on the rangetop or in the oven. But they had good ranges in 1958--both gas and electric.

it was very uncommon but some of the rich people might of had gas stoves or also known as oil stoves but outdoor fires were very popular it that time
