Put macoroni in a pot, boil it with water and when it's cooked, take it out of the pot. Put cheese on it, and melt the cheese [in a microwave] or in an oven.

You probably want to make a cheese sauce to go with your macaroni. Melt some butter in a pan, add flour and mix to a paste, gradually add milk and stir or whisk to form a smooth sauce, heat and keep stirring until the sauce has thickened and the flour has cooked (add more liquid if needed). You now have a roux sauce. Add grated cheese ( I use a tasty cheddar) salt and pepper, and a touch of spice ( nutmeg, paprika, cayenne or chili powder depending on you taste) and maybe dried herbs. Add your cooked macaroni and serve or place in a shallow baking dish cover with grated cheese and place under a grill until the cheese is bubbling.
