If you are doing it this way then be sure after it is defrosted that you soak the chicken in cold, salted water for 15 minutes, then rinse and pat dry with a paper towel before putting it on the BBQ or in a roasting pan. You put the chicken on a round platter with a plastic microsafe lid over it or Glad wrap and it will take approx. 20 - 30 minutes.

Actually, you don't even need to do this. Put your frozen chicken in the cold water with salt and let sit for 3/4 of an hour to an hour and change the water every 20 minutes. Then rinse well and pat dry with paper towel. Salted water helps kill any bacteria on the chicken.
