I have a range hood/exhaust fan over my oven/range. It was a common type purchased at Home Depot. We've found that a square pot holder will fit just behind the screen, before the fan, and blocks 99% of the draft from the vent. We just have to remember that we can't use the fan until we remove the pot holder. - Brian C.
