After "lightly" burning my tapioca pudding, I searched the Net for a remedy but no one had a good one, other than discard it and start again. But I had no more eggs so I took a suggestion of pouring caramel over the pudding and just mixed it it! Voila! Since caramel has a "burnt sugar" taste already, it effectively camoflaged the burnt taste of the pudding! Try it!

If it's rice that you have burnt, stick a fork in the middle of the pot. This will draw the burnt taste out of the rice (some of it anyway) If you slightly burn a sauce add a little English mustard but don't allow it to boil again or its effect will not work
Are you stir-ing your rice,if so you shouldn't be because the rice will harden and may seem uncooked:) Are you cooking the rice before putting it in the pudding? You should be!
