'cuit' a very nice word if you are a cook
It could vary depending on what exactly you're saying, but the general term is cuit
I'm cooking... = je cuisine
marmite
J'aime faire la cuisine
est en train de cuire
bonne cuisson; bonne cuisine
Que faites-vous cuire ? Quelle nourriture faites-vous cuire ? (What food are you cooking ?)
Cooking isn't a loanword from French, but "cuisine" is.
les herbes, les fines herbes (the latter for cooking only)
home cooking is translated "cuisine familiale" in French
The French word for cooking is cuisinière
food preparation is called 'la cuisine' in French. If you think of the industrial process of preparing food for selling it, you may say 'préparation culinaire' (you may also say that for your cooking, but that's snobbish)
