Depends on the shape; a cup of spaghetti is way heavier than a cup of shells because shells are full of air. So you have to weigh out 7oz on whatever type of pasta you have, or look at the package to see how much it all weighs and divide it up to get a 7oz portion. If it's a pound of noodles, use a little less than half.
