this is a fairly stupid question- how much does the cup weigh? do you want to know only the water in the cup quantity's weight or the cup+water? if cooking, there should be an index giving you that particular cook's idea of a cup's size.

a gallon weighs 8.34 lbs.i think there is 16 cups in a gallon,divide 8.34by16 you have approx.52125 lbs(approx 1 half lb)
