5 grams of what?
The problem is converting from volume to weight.
A teaspoon is a volume measure and equals 5 milliliters.
If we are measuring water, then 1 tsp = 5 ml = 5 grams,
because 1 ml is equal to 1 gram.
Measuring salt or other substances would be a different answer.
1 teaspoon of salt is approximately 6.25 grams.
So to answer your question 5 grams of salt would be ~4/5 (.8) of a teaspoon.
