Between Saran Wrap and foil, I would choose foil. But the best thing to use are freezer bags.
Simple glad-wrap or aluminum foil should do the job :)
Plastic wrap. Foil makes it hot.
It's commonly called "tin foil" (originally it was made of tin) but it is actually aluminium foil, rolled to a thickness of (typically) less than 0.02 mm.
Aluminium foil or plastic wrap insulate the heat of the wrapped up material.

Aluminum foil is better at keeping things colder compared to plastic wrap. This is because aluminum is a better insulator and can reflect heat more effectively than plastic wrap.

You should wrap soup for take out in a plastic container with a tight fitting lid. Or, you can pour the soup into a bowl and cover it with Clingfilm.

You wrap food in foil and seal all the edges before cooking it.
