Kitchen Lab Rules
1. Cooking is a privilege
2. This in not your house. This is school and a lab setting. You must ask to get items out of the refrigerator. You do not help yourself to any food on the supply table or in the refrigerator.
3. Wash hands in hot soapy water.
4. Pull hair back in a ponytail.
5. Make sure clothing will not get into food (long sleeves, scarves, necklaces, oversized sweatshirt, coats, etc.)
6. Make sure you use only the ingredients on your Market Order.
7. Stay in your kitchen. You are not to be roaming around the room. The Chef is responsible for gathering ingredients.
8. If you are not in your correct place during lab you might find yourself at your seat and missing out on your lab points for the day.
9. No horseplay , No flipping towels, throwing food, etc.
10. Table is to be set for each lab
11. Don't eat until the group has been seated and the table is set.
12. Do not sit on the counter or on the tables.
13. Wipe down countertops , stovetops and sink
14. Don't put knives in soapy dishwater
15. Sink should not have any dirty rags left in it
16. All laundry is to be up in the dirty clothes. New towels are to be replaced at the end of each lab.
17. All materials used are to be put back in their properlocation (labeled cabinet, drawer, or supply cart).
18. Know the kitchen and where common supplies are located. Examples: vegetable oil, foil, plastic wrap, broom and dust pan, etc.

22. Do not put metal in the microwave
23. If there is a fire on the range top: 1. turn off heat, 2. put cover on pan, and/or 3. pour baking soda on the flames. Never use water because grease will splatter or baking powder could make it worse
24. Never attempt to carry a pan with burning contents
25. Be careful of cross-contamination. Wash all utensils, cutting boards and countertops
26. Everyone is to be helping in the kitchen. If you do not have a specific job then you are to be observing
