In addition to the answer above, all those foods are delicious when grilled 'Au George', but you can also be a bit more creative....

Paninis or Toasties - make a sandwich as normal and place on the grill - don't grease the grill as this makes the toastie crispier. Try Ham and cheese, cheese and tomato, peaches and gammon, brie and bacon, brie and cranberry jelly, peanut butter and jam (U.S. jelly). Caution - tomato, jam, cranberry jelly and cheese get very hot!

Breakfast - Flat field mushrooms, Sausages and bacon - no need to grease the cooking plates and if you lightly spray either side of a thick slice of bread you can have a healthier alternative to fried bread too!. You can also toast crumpets and English muffins

Vegetables, a light spray of oil helps to prevent sticking for veggies - Red, yellow and green sweet peppers, halved and de-seeded, sliced onions, slices of aubergine and courgette (U.S. egg-plant and zuccini). Very thinly slice a potato at its widest part and place them on the grill - thin scalloped potatoes!

Dessert - a large banana sliced in half length ways and grilled is lovely served with some creme faiche or ice cream. Toasted muffin - slice in half length ways and grill - they go flat but are tasty! Avoid chocolate chip as the chocolate melts and sticks to the grill plates!
