Assuming you have some sort of pan to put it in, use another one of some sort as a lid. Most any kitchen has two pot or pans that will fit together and seal more or less. The only issue would be to make sure the lid fit inside of the pan so that any steam or grease stayed inside the bottom pan. Be creative. Generally if it can go in the oven, it will work.
If you're making somthing like a cake where the paper will be completely covered, you can use waxed paper. If it's not going to be completely covered like with cookies, DON'T use waxed paper. Silicon baking mats and nonstick cooking spray work just as well.
Thaw it. Dont ever attempt to cook chicken which is still part frozen as you will end up with a lovely bout of salmonella, or even e-coli.
i dont realy think there are any advantages or disadvantages. people may bake cause it is fun and some may not cause they dont find it fun
if you're cooking a whole chicken, dont use foil or the skin wont crisp up. if you're cooking something like chicken catchatorie in a braising liquid, the foil with keep in the moisture. in short, if you want crispy chicken, dont cover it.
