Casurea, also known as "cashew apple," is the fruit of the cashew tree (Anacardium occidentale). It is a juicy, fleshy accessory fruit that grows at the end of the cashew nut, and while it is not widely consumed in many regions, it is used in some cultures to make beverages, jams, and other products. The cashew apple is rich in vitamin C and has a sweet, slightly astringent flavor. However, it is perishable and not commonly exported, limiting its availability outside the areas where it is grown.
