Basic lasagna is made with noodles (made from flour and egg), ricotta cheese, egg (to help solidify the cheese), and tomato sauce.

herbs, meats, olive oil, vegetables and other cheeses can be added to the lasagna to give it a different flavor or texture. A white lasagna can be made by using a cream sauce instead of tomato sauce.
