Common foods that are local to the areas, which should therefore be consumed regularly, are plantains, yucca, beef and pork as well as seafood such as shrimp and fish. Rice, corn, potatoes, peanuts, coffees and a wide variety of fruits such as mangoes and passion fruit are also common in many areas.

It depends of the region, there are four regions in Ecuador, Coast. Mountains, Oriental and Galapagos. Each one of these has a unique, rich and variety kind of food, I am from Guayaquil which is a city located very close to the sea. We have lots of typical dishes. Ceviche is the traditional, is any sea food, mixed with lemons, onions and ketchup, we eat rice, plantains all kind of beans and beef, chicken and pork, fried fish is also a typical dish with salsa and fried plantain and rice. Our country produces all kind of vegetables, and fruits so fresh juices are part of Ecuadorians diet.
