Chicken and other poultry have been cooked in hot oil (fried) for hundreds, if not thousands of years, in many parts of the world. The current information dates the earliest domesticated chickens (that led to our modern chickens) to the Indus Valley around 2500-2100 BC. It doesn't take much to discover that chicken fried in its own fat is very delicious. There is no doubt that, as breeding this type of chicken spread, the cooking method spread with it. Somewhere along in time, using oil to fry chicken came into practice. So, there is not single time or month that frying chicken was invented, it was figured out by different people in different places over time. Many people today still like to fry chicken in chicken fat.
