An active kitchen has a number of possible sounds based on what type of a meal a chef might be preparing. For example, the sound of a blender mixing up fruits for a desert might be a familiar sound. The sizzling sound of an omelet in a frying pan on the stove is another possible kitchen noise. There is also the sound of running water from the kitchen sink as fruits and vegetables are being "washed" having just been fresh from the grocery store or the refrigerator. In fact, by listening closely, the sound of the electrical motor in a refrigerator can be heard. Also, many kitchens have dishwashers. That sound of this appliance is usually loud and distinctive in the kitchen.
