Cold hardy greens like escarole are a good pick for the winter garden. Carrots and other root crops also work well. Make sure to talk to you extension agent for a list of vegetables the will work in the winter garden.
Usally, in the winter, vegtables are imported from different countries or warmer places. hope this really helps but theres carrots and sparrots!!!!!!!
