Why does the back of refrigerators get hot?

That is where the condenser coil is. The condenser coil is supposed to be hot. Be sure to keep it clean so it functions optimally.

A fridge works by taking heat from the food inside, and pumping it out to the radiator panel outside. Logically, the panel will need to disperse/spread the heat to the outside environment, making it quite hot.

This has already been answered. To cool things, the refrigerator has to get heat from them, and it sends the heat to cooling fins outside the radiator at the back. So they get hot, and transfer the heat to the surrounding air.

A freezer/refrigerator is basically a machine that can move heat around. It collects the heat inside the fridge/freezer and dumps it outside. Then it also use a bit of electricity to make that happen. So, the heat that's been removed from the inside of the fridge/freezer gets dumped outside, together with the waste heat from the electric motor that does the job of moving the heat.

The condenser fan may have stopped running. Try sleaninfg th fan and if it still won't turn you need a new motor.
