Why toasters always have a setting so high that could burn the toast to a horrible crisp which no decent human being would eat?
I figure that either some people like it like that or it was just a mistake.

Perhaps the designers are just sadistic pyromaniacs. But ask the toaster. See how the toaster feels. Maybe....maybe it doesn't LIKE making toast. Perhaps you should buy some bagels, or poptarts or something, in some kind of attempt to appease it. Try adjusting the settings. Consider the fact that it just doesn't like you. Finally, drive it up to a busy highway and watch it get hit by a mack truck. Buy and enjoy a box of cereal.Also that you can use it as a dart board.
Maybe also that some people are weird and like to eat it that way OR other people are impatient and they want to toast their bread faster.
